Service
individual support
At Arborescence, we offer individualized support including psychosocial monitoring and/or family peer support. You also have the option of participating in the follow-ups in the presence of a person who supports you in your role as a companion for your loved one. (Please note that we do not offer direct support between loved ones and the person living with a mental health disorder.)
We are developing a monitoring approach based on the complementarity of psychosocial workers and family peer support workers.
This service is offered in French, English and Spanish. In case you would like follow-up in another language, do not hesitate to contact our team!
Our psychosocial workers provide information, support and guidance to improve the well-being of those close to a person living with a mental health issue. They draw on their theoretical experience including communication with loved ones, understanding needs and limits and recognizing emotions. They also draw on practical experience accumulated over time in the field.
Family peer support
Family peer supporters have had significant experience providing support to one or more people living with a mental health issue. They draw on their experiential knowledge and training to offer support and a listening ear to loved ones with mental health issues.
Our family peer helpers offer their services within the CIUSSS du Sud, de l’Est, du Nord l’île de Montréal and internally.
Our intervention approach
Psychosocial intervention
By working together, psychosocial workers and family peer supporters develop a complementary service offer. Depending on your wishes and the assessment of your situation, you may be required to see a psychosocial worker and/or a family peer supporter as part of your follow-ups.
